Lately, I’ve found myself in a familiar space — somewhere between certainty and curiosity.

I was all set to geld my young Tulara Warmblood colt in two weeks. It felt like the next logical step. But then… I paused. Because this colt? He’s something special. He’s soft. Steady. Incredibly chill by nature. He’s shown me calmness, connection, and curiosity that feels rare, especially in a young fellow.

And so now, I’m rethinking it.

Anyone who works with horses — whether through riding, training, or equine therapy — will know the feeling. Horses have a way of speaking to us. Of asking us to really see them. They reflect so much back to us: our pace, our presence, our tension. And sometimes, they ask us to change course.

This colt is doing just that.

And while I sit with that decision, the rest of the herd (and life) continues to move. Here’s a little round-up of what else is unfolding in my world right now:

On-Farm Horse Lease Opportunity

I’m currently offering a rare on-farm lease opportunity for two suitable adult riders (18+) — one focusing on dressage, the other on show jumping — to lease a well-trained performance horse in a supportive, professional setting.

This might be perfect if you:

  • Are confident at walk, trot, and canter;
  • Are in between a riding school and the full commitment of horse ownership;
  • Are returning to riding after a break but don’t currently own a horse;
  • Want more structured experience before buying or;
  • Are seeking steady progression with the guidance of an experienced coach.

If this speaks to your stage of the journey, I’d love to chat. You can book a complimentary consultation right here. Please note: strict conditions and an application process do apply. Property location: Murwillumbah, NSW.

Weekly Lessons & Community

Also, weekly equestrian lessons with me are in full swing …

🐴 Tuesdays at Saddle & Soul Equine Centre — contact Alana directly to book.
🐴 Thursdays at RDA (Riding for the Disable Association) — book online via my website.

Both venues are close to Murwillumbah and provide a lovely indoor arena for us to work in. Some Saturday lessons are available when I can fit them with our competition schedule. Both these opportunities are a grounding part of my week that I feel honoured to be part of.

Whether I’m in the arena, working outside on our property or at my desk tackling marketing strategies for my clients, my days remain woven with the presence and wisdom of horses. They continue to shape not just my riding, but my living — and more than ever, I’m reminded of the power of horses in therapy and personal growth.

Thank you for riding along with me. With love and blessings,

Hiddyx😘
